Terms and Conditions Overview

SteerSmart Driving School is committed to delivering quality driving education that promotes safety, responsibility, and confidence behind the wheel. Our instructors are certified, experienced, and passionate about helping students become skilled drivers.

Eligibility

To participate in driving lessons:

• Students must possess a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license as required by local regulations.
• Students are required to present their license or permit at each lesson.
• SteerSmart Driving School reserves the right to refuse lessons if eligibility requirements are not met.

Booking and Scheduling

All lessons and packages must be booked in advance. Our scheduling policies include:

• Booking Methods: Lessons may be scheduled via our website or by contacting us directly.
• Lesson Availability: We strive to accommodate preferred scheduling times but cannot guarantee availability. Bookings are subject to instructor schedules and may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
• Rescheduling: Lessons may be rescheduled in accordance with our cancellation policy (see Cancellation and Refund Policy section).

Lesson Packages and Payments

SteerSmart offers various lesson packages designed to meet the needs of new and experienced drivers.

• Pricing and Payment: Package prices and individual lesson rates are listed on our website. Payments are required at the time of booking.
• Accepted Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards and select online payment options.
• Non-Transferable: Packages are non-transferable and non-shareable between students.
• Expiration of Packages: Lesson packages must be used within one year of purchase unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that schedules may change. To ensure fairness:

• Cancellation Notice: Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours before the lesson to avoid fees.
• Late Cancellations: Cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled lesson may incur a fee.
• Refunds for Packages: No refunds are offered for unused lessons within a package. Students are responsible for completing all lessons within the package timeframe.
• School-Initiated Cancellations: SteerSmart reserves the right to cancel lessons due to weather, instructor availability, or other safety concerns. In these cases, students will receive a rescheduled lesson or refund.

Code of Conduct

To maintain a safe and respectful learning environment, all students are expected to:

• Adhere to Instructions: Follow all guidance and directions provided by the instructor.
• Demonstrate Respect: Treat instructors and any passengers with courtesy and respect.
• Be Sober and Alert: Refrain from attending lessons under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Behavioral Conduct: Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in lesson termination without a refund.

Safety Protocols and Equipment

SteerSmart prioritizes safety above all:

• Vehicle Safety: Our vehicles are maintained to high safety standards, equipped with dual controls where possible, and undergo regular inspections.
• Safety Requirements: Seatbelts are mandatory, and students must follow all traffic laws and instructor guidance.
• Lesson Termination: Instructors may terminate any lesson if they believe safety is at risk, at their sole discretion.

Privacy and Data Protection

We are committed to protecting your privacy:

• Information Collection: Personal information collected during registration, booking, and lessons is kept secure and confidential.
• Data Usage: We only use student information for operational purposes, including scheduling, communication, and record-keeping.
• Third-Party Sharing: We do not share personal information with third parties, except as required by law or with student consent.
• Cookies and Analytics: Our website may use cookies to improve user experience. By using our site, you consent to cookie use.

Liability and Waiver

While SteerSmart Driving School takes all precautions to provide a safe learning environment, participation in driving lessons involves inherent risks.

• Student Assumption of Risk: By enrolling, students acknowledge that they accept responsibility for all risks associated with driving.
• Limitation of Liability: SteerSmart and its instructors are not liable for any accidents, injuries, or property damage occurring during lessons, except in cases of gross negligence.
• Insurance: Our vehicles are insured, but students are advised to consult their insurance providers about additional coverage if needed.

Changes to Terms & Conditions

We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically:

• Notice of Changes: Any changes to these Terms will be posted on our website. Students are encouraged to review the Terms regularly.
• Acceptance of Changes: Continued use of our services implies acceptance of any revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ontario. Any disputes related to these terms shall be resolved in the courts located within this jurisdiction.
